Como siempre, muchos ingleses que aman el fútbol nos avergüenzan con su deportividad a la hora de valorar un partido. Este análisis del partido acabo de leerlo en los comentarios de un artículo en el Guardian:
There is no shame in losing to one of the greatest teams to have ever played the game, but United got it wrong tonight. They had one chance and one chance only of winning - to keep things as tight as physically possible and look to score a goal either on the counter-attack or from a set-piece. They’ve perfected the art of doing so in Europe over the past two seasons, but for some foolish reason they chose to attack Barcelona from the outset and they paid the price. Throwing on Tevez and Berbatov in the second half was the kind of desperate measure you wouldn’t even consider on Championship Manager.
Everyone who sneered at the ‘anti-football’ played by Chelsea in their semi-final against Barcelona should realise that no other team has come as close to beating them in a meaningful game this season. And I say that as a United fan. Special teams call for special measures, and this Barcelona side is one of the most exceptional that any of us are likely to see. They deserve every trophy, plaudit and disbelieving shake of the head that ever come their way.
Esto se llama deportividad, aceptar la superioridad del rival, valorar sus virtudes y aplaudir sus éxitos.
